ARPA Funds for County Employee Mental Health Services

Published —

There have been many conversations regarding optimal usage of funds coming from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Whether in County Commission Chambers at a public meeting or in a Town Hall discussion with the mayor, Cities and Counties alike are trying to maximize taxpayer benefits from this non-repeatable funding source.

ARPA has also been a recurring discussion item in the City Manager and County Administrator Think Tanks. One of our think tank participants is Phillip Smith-Hanes, County Administrator for Saline County in Kansas. They recently began a “Love Your Mental Health” campaign – offering to all county employees a CopeNotes subscription.

“Funded through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, Cope Notes’ implementation in Saline County comes at a time when the stressors and complications of adapting to COVID-19 have amplified the need for digital solutions that maintain consistent communication with individuals seeking preventative care, as well as those reluctant to engage with providers altogether.
