With so many conferences and training events canceled in 2020, there hasn’t been as much opportunity for connecting with other City Managers and County Administrators in 2020. A Virtual Happy Hour has been available every Friday at 5:30pm EST since early April, but not everyone is available during that time.
Starting Wednesday, September 9th, Imagine That Performance will be hosting a Virtual Brown Bag Lunch Social for City Managers and County Administrators. This is an opportunity to build camaraderie with peers while doing something you would be doing anyway… eating lunch!
As a City Manager or County Administrator, you probably already tried to tackle the challenge of creating the “water cooler” effect at work. Yes, some aspects of the work are more efficient as employees work remotely, but you also know the teamwork and sense of community are also vital to a strong working environment.
The same thing is true for City Managers and County Administrators. The interaction with peers at training events and conferences are very important to remain connected to the community of peers that exist. Like the Virtual Happy Hours, the Virtual Brown Bag Events are social in nature and scheduled at a time as to not impede work, while offering the community and support that could improve the quality of work.
